Networks First unveils 'Number One' a new centre for network support excellence

New corporate headquarters becomes hub for superior service support

18 April 2007: Networks First, a specialist provider of converged network support services, is proud to announce the opening of its new corporate headquarters in Redditch, ‘Number One’.  At the heart of the 12,000 square ft development sits The NOC, Networks First’s Network Operations Centre, Service Desk and Technical Assistance Centre, providing 24x7 monitoring and an unrivalled level of network support.

Conceived as a new centre for excellence in service delivery ‘Number One’, houses highly trained technical engineers and a spares inventory in excess of £4M. The interior of the new headquarters has also been designed to reflect Network First’s culture – a distinctive blend of people passion and IT expertise. The features of the new building open up the entire service delivery process from initial engagement through to final service delivery enabling visitors to see and experience the depth of service provided by Networks First.

Networks First has grown rapidly to become a £7 million-a-year turnover business and it believes its success is down to its culture and desire to deliver the very best results. Interaction, a specialist office interior design and fit-out company, was appointed to interpret the specific requirements of Networks First and to create their new headquarters.

Adam Burtt-Jones, from Interaction and the designer behind Number One, comments: “I haven’t seen any other IT company spend so much time, focus and investment creating a workplace that entirely matches its company vision. Everything from the colour scheme to the parking area has been well thought out and creates an environment that staff really enjoy working in.”

In the last six months Networks First has also launched a new suite of support services. These include ‘Owl’ an independent network assessment tool for IP telephony and ‘Hummingbird’ a service to monitor and maintain the quality of IP telephony.

Peter Titmus, Managing Director, Networks First, adds: “As well as being a centre of excellence for network management we wanted Number One to be a vibrant, fun place to work. With so many of our head office staff working in service delivery it is also ideally situated close to the motorway network in the Midlands putting us at the centre of the UK.  Number One stands for everything that Networks First is about and we look forward to welcoming customers and partners to come and experience our network management support philosophy.”
