Project Office

What are the lead times for a Project engineer?
Typically we quote 10 working days for engineering availability. If Networks First are not delivering Project Design or Project Consultancy in relation to the engineering work required a Project Brief and location must be provided so we can confirm availability.

Are your Project engineers available throughout the UK?
Yes. Our Project engineers cover all of the UK and often complete projects in Europe too.

Is Project Management available?
Yes; our Project Office and Project Consultants can provide this service. This can include the management of multiple project work streams to ensure seamless project delivery. Please request this with your quote.

We’ve submitted a support services order, what happens next?
You’ll receive a copy of our Welcome Pack – also available here, providing you with details on who you need to contact with incidents, quote requests and other enquiries. You’ll receive a copy of your contract in the post or via our ServiceFirst customer portal.

How do I gain access to the ServiceFirst customer portal?

What is the role of the Customer Engagement Manager?
The Customer Engagement Manager will be involved from the initial service transition meeting. Their role is to ensure that processes and procedures are integrated between Networks First, our Partner and their customer. They are also instrumental in obtaining customer feedback through conducting regular Service Review meetings. Vendor Alliance

What vendors do you work with?
Networks First work with multiple vendors who include Cisco, HP, Extreme/Enterasys, Avaya, Aruba, Mitel, Huawei, Check Point, Fortinet, Blue Coat, Brocade & 3Com.

What are enhanced services?
Enhanced services are software support that is backed off to the vendor. Vendor backed support offers access to software updates, bug fixes and for some vendors high level TAC support through the vendor themselves should a support incident need to be escalated to the vendor.

What is your key differentiator between other Cisco suppliers?
Networks First have a strong working relationship with Cisco being both a Cisco Master Managed Service Partner and also a Cisco Silver Partner. This entitles us to the same discounts as a Cisco Gold Partner however demonstrates Networks First has the expertise and experience to provide excellent service delivery to our partners and their customers.

What is an Extreme/Enterasys bridging partner?
Networks First became the first Extreme/Enterasys bridging partner following the merger of the two vendors. The vendors recognised our skills as a company who can offer transitional support services and professional services across both product sets and technologies. This certification recognises our skills and experience which has been developed over the last decade for both Enterasys and Extreme networks.

Do you offer deal registration?
Networks First can deal register opportunities for product supply with vendors to guarantee the best possible price within their programme perimeters.

Can I apply for a job at Networks First as an overseas applicant?
Yes, Networks First accepts applications from overseas. Due to the nature of our business and services delivered we do require applicants to meet the following criteria:

  • Engineering and Project Office employees require SC clearance. In order to achieve this the UK government require the candidate to have lived in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Back office employees require a valid visa to work in the UK.
